Tes Podcast: Reopening Schools & Gcse & A-level Results 2021

Join the Tes news team as we discuss Tes survey findings showing that 75 per cent of teachers are against schools reopening this term.

The survey results came in the week when the prime minister announced a plan to start reopening schools to more pupils from 8 March.

We ask why teachers may fear reopenings, and look at the NEU teaching union’s plan for opening schools safely, which calls for the use of masks and rotas among other measures.

As the Department for Education and Ofqual consultation on how to award exam grades this summer draws to an end, we look at some of the responses, including from the Education Policy Institute and the NAHT heads’ union.

And we discuss the Tes survey that revealed more DfE laptops problems for schools, as well as the story of how one headteacher stood up to critical parents.
