MONDAY

THE GREAT SMOG (1952)

JAPANESE BOMB PEARL HARBOR (1941)

Japan attacks the American naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and declares war on Britain and the US - the event which brought America into the Second World War. For an investigation try a resource from Phammerton.

JOHN LENNON SHOT (1980)

PARADISE LOST

The birthday of celebrated poet John Milton (1608-1674), who was also a polemicist and civil servant. Milton wrote in English, Latin and Italian. Study the background to his poem Paradise Lost in a PowerPoint from Miss_s_k.

SATURDAY

HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

The UN day of international human rights. Follow the link to find poems written as part of the project "Where d'ye come fae?", which encouraged pupils to explore ideas of identity and share stories on Scottish life. From mjoan.
