The Government is piloting several approaches to finance education

* Emphasis should be given to young people in economically deprived areas which have weaker links with business.

* New teaching materials for enterprise and personal finance education. These should be integrated into existing curriculum initiatives such as the national numeracy strategy.

* Government should provide pound;2m to improve the scale and quality of business involvement - particularly among small and medium-sized companies.

* Ofsted should add a question to the next review of the inspection framework: ‘How well does the school prepare young people for employability (including enterprise capability)?’
