Heads have won their fight to keep vending machines selling fizzy drinks and sweets in schools after a health select committee report recommended governors only allowed vending machines where parents agreed. Melanie Johnson, health minister, has now said the Government will urge schools to offer healthier foods in vending machines, rather than ban them.
