‘No chance’ of perfect KS2 Sats

Primary schools have no chance of ever reaching 100 per cent success in English and mathematics at key stage 2, Stephen Twigg, education minister, conceded this week.

He told MPs on the education select committee that the 2006 target of 85 per cent was “ambitious” and that it was important for schools to continue to build on the progress they were making rather than focus on targets.
