No change on school years, says minister

Education minister Leighton Andrews has confirmed there are no plans to make any changes to the school year in Wales. Plaid Cymru’s election pledge to scrap six-week summer holidays and alter term times to improve standards has provoked a debate, but speaking in the Senedd last week Mr Andrews said it is not currently being considered.
