The teaching unions will continue to face the old guard across the negotiating table at the Scottish Joint Negotiating Committee. The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities has decided that Elizabeth Maginnis, who chairs the education committee in Edinburgh, and Tom Farrell, her East Ayrshire counterpart, should continue to act as convener and vice-convener .
