No delegation of social work

ACCORDING to “Where welfare works” (TES, July 3) the education social work service in Somerset was delegated to schools and then taken back under the authority’s wing.

This is incorrect. The education social work service was never, in fact, devolved or delegated.

The education social work service in Somerset operates under a joint service agreement between the social services department and Somerset education services.
