Paul and Jayne Walmsley, whose son Luke, 14, was murdered in a school corridor are backing a public petition calling for action on crime. Luke was killed at Birkbeck school in Lincolnshire, in November 2003. Mrs Walmsley said: “It is very worrying when the streets are not safe any more because of the rising knife culture... The Government’s futile attempts to address this problem don’t even scratch the surface.”
