A PIONEERING drop-in centre in south London for underprivileged children run by the charity, Kids Company, is to close next June following compaints about noise.

The Arches centre in Peckham was set up in 1996 to provide a safe haven for emotionally disturbed children. Supporters believe it is a victim of prejudice by ell-heeled people moving into the area.

Camila Batmanghelidjh, who runs the centre, said the closure was “about the hypocrisy of people who pay lip service to social inclusion, but can’t tolerate the sounds children make”.
