We don’t mean to depress you, but the results of a recent survey on the future of teaching would put you off the job for life. The scariest statistic was that one in three teachers are likely to leave the profession within five years because of overwork, government interference and poor pupil discipline. At least the figure among NQTs is lower, but still a whopping 15 per cent think they will have quit teaching within five years.
