Olympic swimmers Mark Foster and Steve Parry and pupils from schools in St Helens, Merseyside, took part in an event to encourage more young people to swim.

Ten pupils from Shanghai visited their partner school, Stockley Academy in Middlesex, as part of a link forged through the International School Award.

Pupils who dig archaeology will be able to sign up for a new A-level at South Cheshire College. An event at Nantwich Museum gave local schools a taste of the subject.

Pupils from Barford St Peter’s CofE Primary School worked with artist Jenny Hetherington to photograph their area and create a mosaic as part of an art project in Warwick.
