Youngsters in Manchester schools are boxing clever by taking part in the Skills Spar, run by Hopwood Hall College and the Schools Amateur Boxing Association. Rules in the new form of the sport, which aims to teach responsibility as well as fitness, have been adapted to meet the needs of different ages and skill levels and encourage wider participation.

St Philip and St James Church in Bath is fighting the green fight with 98 solar panels fitted to its roof as part of a project to unite pupils in the UK, Uganda and India in their bid to help tackle climate change.

More than 100 Chesterfield College students celebrated their graduation at the Parish Church of St Mary and All Saints, also known as the Crooked Spire. Hundreds of well-wishers gathered at the grand venue to see learners receive qualifications from foundation degrees to advanced professional diplomas.

A herd of water buffalo adopted by West Rise Junior School in Eastbourne has grown after the birth of a male calf. Local station Sovereign Radio is asking local people to suggest ideas on what to call him.

Pupils at Burbage Junior School in Leicestershire received sustainable tourism awards from The Co-op Travel after taking part in a scheme to encourage them to think about the impact of holidays on the environments and cultures they visit.
