“School History on the Move: Changes in the Learning and Teaching of History in the Decade of Educational Reforms” is the theme of a conference taking place in Bologna, Castel San Pietro, from March 25 to 30. Year 7 and 8 students are invited to write a short story set in AD78 during the reign of the Emperor Vespasian for a Roman Historical Fiction writing competition sponsored by the publisher John Murray and the Historical Association. Caroline Lawrence, author of The Roman Mysteries children’s historical fiction series, is on the judging panel and Year 7 students will themselves decide which are the best four entries.
