“Creating opportunities” is the theme of Language World, the Association for Language Learning’s annual conference at the University of Kent, Canterbury, July 1-3. A parallel conference on “Motivation”, subtitled: “Get it right at KS3, keep them at KS4”, can also be attended.

Speakers include Lid King, national director of languages, DfES, on “Languages for All, Languages for Life”. There will be a range of workshops and a new “Celebration Area” highlighting excellent work in schools. Free entry to accompanying resources exhibition.
