Jim Mackenzie, heidie at Williamwood High in East Renfrewshire, aka “The Admiral” because of his nautical past, has been co-ordinating visits to the new ship Williamwood, which opens in August.
But he was puzzled by an e-mail from one of his cluster heads which said she didn’t think her pupils should come to see the new school on the same day as “the other zoo”.
The Admiral was momentarily taken aback, as he hadn’t thought of any of his associated primaries as blackboard jungles. Eventually, he cracked the code. “It was a typo for ‘200’,” he explained. Of course.
