I HAVE followed recent press interest in the appointment of a headteacher for Islington Green School on a salary of up to pound;70,000. As a candidate interviewed for the post, I would like to state that the new head would definitely earn such a salary.
The school will also need a period of restraint from the media. This will allow the school and the local authority opportunity to get things together so Islington Green can not only be removed from special measures but also develop as a centre of excellence.
Give the new head and the school community every opportunity to succeed.
