For Set97, the national week of science, engineering and technology (March 14-23), the Old Royal Observatory, Greenwich, is running lectures and family event: a rare opportunity to view the stars through the country’s largest refracting telescope, March 14, tickets Pounds 3.50 in advance; “Time on the line - sundials”, March 15: children will make sundials and find out why they rarely indicate the same time as clocks; “Time on the line - clocks”, March 16 and 22: children will make own clocks and learn about Greenwich Mean Time; children’s planetarium show, March 19; and camera-making, March 22 and 23.
