We hope that the singer Peter Andre will be celebrating at home with his wife Jordan about the fantastic news from his old school in London.

As reported in this week’s TES, Wembley High has just received an ecstatic report from inspectors.

Peter has mentioned in interviews how he and his siblings attended the school and nearby Sudbury Junior - which has since closed - before their family moved them to Australia in 1984. “Saying goodbye was very, very strange and difficult to deal with,” he said.

He played a special homecoming concert at Wembley High in 1996. But his former school will not be constructing a statue to him yet. “We’ve not been able to find records showing that he was here,” said head Gill Bal, “So he can only have been here for a month or two.”
