Ofsted asked to keep out

Inspectors should rubber-stamp schools’ internal evaluations, rather than imposing their own judgments, the Association of School and College Leaders said in a report published this week.

The union said that Ofsted often fails to provide an accurate picture of a school. John Dunford, the union’s general secretary, said inspectors should work more closely with heads, taking into account their internal quality-control systems.
