In your article “Day the inspector cried” (TES, June 9), an HMI states that inspecting schools is the best training you could have for becoming a headteacher. After the concerns expressed about the current inspection system, is it not also the case, that being headteacher (of a challenging school) should be compulsory training for HMIs?
