There is much to be celebrated in Ofsted’s new framework for inspections (“Dawn raids out but raw results in at Ofsted”, June 12).
Yet the renewed focus on raw results could compound the difficulties faced by challenging schools - especially around recruitment and retention of staff and falling pupil rolls. We must ensure that the potential of these plans to promote a more constructive, balanced dialogue between schools, parents and inspectors is mirrored in the way the data is presented publicly.
