Ofsted: rude to show up unannounced?

In theory no-notice inspections by Ofsted should be less stressful, since they would irradicate the unedifying spectacle of teachers “running around like headless chickens” in preparation for an inspection.

In practice the exact opposite will be the case because anxious heads will now have to keep their troops on a 247 war footing, with the inevitable loss in morale, nervous breakdowns and defections from the profession.

This is not why I became a teacher.
