All schools are outstanding for some of their pupils - the task is how to support teachers to make schools outstanding for all pupils. This cannot be achieved through pressurising and labelling teachers by measuring them against limited performance outcomes based on a political premise that all pupils are the same.

Mr Gove, Sir Michael, they aren’t. As humans, we are all complex individuals who behave and learn in different ways and at a different pace and in different conditions. In short, we need different (teaching) treatments. Think of your own journeys and try to adapt your “one size fits all” education policy accordingly.
