One of the few delights of being an Office for Standards in Education inspector is the refreshing, incisive quality of children’s observation.

Ten-year-old Amanda declared confidently in her topic book: “In the olden days people used yards, feet and inches.”

Ted Wragg need not worry. My generation is clearly well and truly consigned to history!
