There is no knowing what will be thrown at education authority officials during school reorganisations, as Argyll director Archie Morton knows full well.
“Has the prevalence of midges at the site been taken into account?” he was asked during the council’s unsuccessful efforts to move Arrochar primary into a former outdoor centre.
“Midges are a nuisance at many schools throughout Argyll and Bute,” Morton replied solemnly. “No satisfactory solution is as yet available.”
