At the final Scottish Vocational Education Council dinner in Glasgow, where the last 10 of the council’s 58 fellows were given their certificates, David Miller, chairman of Scotvec as well as the SQA (and the SEB for that matter) said that it had already been decided that old fellows should rename themselves fellows of the new authority. He hoped they would add the initials to their other degrees and honours.

“It was difficult to persuade people to say FScotvec,” he announced to an ill-bred titter. FSQA apparently poses no such problems.
