One in 10 schools is ‘outstanding’

One in 10 schools inspected by Ofsted since September have been judged outstanding, with 44 per cent graded good, 39 per cent satisfactory and 6 per cent inadequate. The watchdog now prioritises weaker schools for inspection, so a smaller proportion of the 4,062 inspected schools were likely to be outstanding than in the past.
