PARENTS and pupils in London are bracing themselves for a one-day teaching strike after members of the country’s two largest unions voted in support of a stoppage on November 26. The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers and the National Union of Teachers will strike in their campaign to raise cost-of-living allowances in London by at least a third to pound;6,000. Support for the strike was backed by 57 per cent of NASUWT members and 81 per cent of NUT members.
