Strikes mooted over changes to teachers’ pensions (2 September)

One voice can’t speak for all (2 September)

But much worse when a very small section of teachers pursues only their interests, such as pay rises only for their members, via a body which only they can belong to, at the expense of teachers as a whole.

Recruitment policy flouted (26 August)

My heart goes out to you. It must have been galling to hear of this “incident” when you are trying so hard to find work. Someone from the council should clarify this. Or the Education Secretary might wish to ensure propriety was observed when the council made the appointment.

MacOfqual?

Why is the SQA not subject to independent scrutiny, as with Ofqual? Is it not incredible that our exam system has had a perfect record in all subjects and all levels since the fiasco? Scotland must catch up with England by having an independent body to ensure the exam system is open, independently quality-assured and fit for purpose? The reality is that many mistakes, in exam papers, have been made since the exam fiasco.
