(Photograph) - Some of the youngest freshers in the country gathered in Wrexham this week for the opening of the first children’s university in Wales. The Wrexham children’s university, developed by Wrexham Council, was opened on Wednesday by Jane Davidson, Welsh Assembly minister for education and lifelong learning. Pupils at participating schools will be able to gain children’s university credits for a wide range of lunch-time and after-school activities. These credits will contribute towards a university award in bronze, silver or gold. Gold awards will be presented at an annual graduation-style ceremony.
