Plans to open an Opus Dei boys school in Potsdam, Germany, have been abandoned by the region’s education authority. Brandenburg’s education ministry has blocked plans for the school, backed by the controversial Catholic sect, because of rules requiring schools to provide an education to pupils regardless of their race, religion and gender.
