* Children can become archaeologists for a day at Time Quest, the hands-on resource centre at Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields. On a replica excavation they unearth real Roman remains, write on wax and weave the Roman way. * New one-hour presentations for GNVQ students are being offered in October and November at Camelot Theme Park, Lancashire. * A converted double-decker bus is put to good use for a tour of the North Greenwich Interchange (the state-of-the-art station at the Millennium Dome) as part of a workshop to examine London's public transport in the 21st century.
