Owls about that, then?

You illustrated a piece entitled “Night owls” (Resource of the week, Science, 31 August) with Harry Potter’s Hedwig. Snowy owls are both nocturnal and diurnal so it would have been better to use Ron Weasley’s Pigwidgeon - a truly nocturnal Scops owl.
