Today, the footballer Eric Cantona was given “punishment” for his provoked assault on a fan. This punishment is in the form of community service which was expressly to include work with young people in sport.
Surely we have more concern for our young people than to use them as a vehicle for punishment and expose them to such a role model? Can we please have more respect for our children?
