John Furlong, director of education at Oxford university, is to lead the Assembly government’s long-awaited review of initial teacher training.
Professor Furlong has until September to produce a report on improving the match between the number of new teachers trained in Wales and demand for them from Welsh schools. The review will also consider how to attract under-represented groups into the profession.
