Think romance and some people think champagne and oysters. For fans of the famous molluscs, why not test their aphrodisiac qualities in honour of St Valentine? We’ve teamed up with Loch Fyne Oysters, the company based in Argyll at the head of Loch Fyne, the longest sea loch in Scotland, to offer you these two gastronomic treats.

First prize is 12 Loch Fyne Oysters plus a bottle of Joseph Perrier Cuvee Royal Champagne complete with a specially designed oyster opener, the Clic Huitre oyster knife. Just the thing to impress your guest.

A second prize from Loch Fyne is a dozen oysters packed in a cane pannier and the Loch Fyne oyster opening kit - a calico Eco bag with apron and tea towel plus that special Clic Huitre oyster opener.

Oysters can be kept refrigerated for four to five days. You can see the range of products Loch Fyne offers, and shop online, at www.lochfyne.com.

To win one of our two oyster treats, answer this question: Aphrodite, who lends her name to the word aphrodisiac, was the Greek goddess of a) love, b) war. N.B. The treat will arrive after Valentine’s Day, which falls inconveniently for teachers next Tuesday.
