The relationship between art and faith will be discussed at a special event for schools.

The film Karol: A Man Who Became Pope is to be screened as part of the Catholic Church in Glasgow Lentfest 2008 events.

The film gives a dramatised version of Karol Wojtyla’s early life before he became Pope John Paul II (pictured), and shows the dilemma he faced over whether to pursue his interest in the arts or join the priesthood.

The screening will be followed by a discussion in which pupils are invited to take part.

The schools-only event is at Glasgow University’s Gilmorehill cinema on March 19, at 12.30pm. Tickets T 0141 330 5522, E boxoffice@gilmorehillg12.co.uk

The full list of Lentfest events, including more activities for young people, is available at www.lentfest.co.uk.
