The Government is empowering parents to find out why their children have been refused school places. But campaigners say the draft Freedom of Information Bill is not going to make it easy for them. Andrew Ecclestone, spokesman for the Campaign for Freedom of Information, which is disappointed with the proposals, said schools could refuse to hand out the information on the grounds that it would “prejudice” their admissions procedure.
