Parents in the dark over uni debt

More than half of parents underestimate the maximum amount of debt with which their child could leave university, according to a UK survey conducted by Standard Life. Some 58 per cent calculate the maximum debt is pound;40,000 or under, compared with the pound;54,571 estimated by Standard Life (based on the three-year university courses south of the border).
