Parents put off the school run

Timetables could be staggered under government plans to cut school run traffic jams. Ministers promised to spend pound;50 million over the next two years in an attempt to wean parents off driving their children to and from lessons. They want more pupils to walk or cycle to school and urged councils to work with parents on travel plans involving safer routes, more road crossings, lower speed limits and cycle paths.
