Parents reluctant to report bullying

PARENTS of bullied children often consider keeping their children at home rather than report their plight to teachers, who they believe will not be supportive, a survey of 400 callers to the charity Parentline Plus found.

The survey also revealed childrn urge their parents not to report bullying because they fear provoking further attacks. Half the parents phoned because they thought their own child was a bully. The government-backed charity is braced for a surge of calls as the new term starts.
