Headteachers in Cardiff have given their backing to a controversial plan to build a new secondary school that would be constructed on parkland.
In a letter to council leader Rodney Berman, the Cardiff Conference of Secondary Headteachers said it supported the plan to replace Rumney and Llanrumney high schools with a new purpose-built facility. The heads’ organisation also welcomed the decision being based on “educational principles”.
But thousands of people have already signed a petition against the reorganisation.
