The Scottish Parliament education service is still awaiting news about its new home but is running a normal programme of events until Easter.

Schools’ visits take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays while the Parliament is sitting. These are popular, so book early.

The education service also organises teachers’ seminars. Places are limited and the next available modern studies session will be on February 11. If a group of teachers from one authority would like a seminar with a particular focus, special in-service sessions can be arranged, either locally or at the Parliament.

To make bookings, tel 0131 348 5405; www.scottish.parliament.uk The site’s education section features various classroom resources.
