Your Friday magazine article “Taking on Ofsted” (TES, June 29) raises serious concerns.

It gives a lengthy, one-sided view of a school inspection, while Ofsted rules prevent detailed responses from the inspectors concerned.

The headteacher writes that the majority of his complaints were “upheld”. Yet his list of complaints was mainly not upheld. Ofsted has formally stated that it has only “partially upheld” certain complaints, while “supporting” the inspectors in others. Even on “partially upheld” points, Ofsted’s conclusions are being contested, as factual information may well have been overlooked.
