POLICE BOX has been taken up by forces in Fife, Tayside, Highland and Central Scotland. An inspection of Central Scotland stated: “The force should consider joint monitoring and evaluation of the scheme with the education services of the local authorities involved.”

Overall, directors of educationreported good relationships atall levels, and there was commendation for the force’s input on school security and design.

Chief Constable Andrew Cameron said: “A solid partnership opens the way to opportunities to make an impact on children and young people - to present alternatives to them to drugs and alcohol misuse.”
