Aberdeen College and Fraserburgh-based Banff and Buchan College have announced a partnership, which they say is in the spirit of the Government’s policy of avoiding “needless competition” within FE.

The two colleges will link with Aberdeenshire Council to establish “a framework of community based education” in the area. Each of the colleges will work in separate towns to avoid duplication, but they will both serve Ellon and Peterhead.

Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen College have also combined to set up a lifelong learning partnership known as the Peterhead Area Learning Services (PALS).
