The Tories say they are recovering but it seems not everyone agrees. A statement about Tory plans for higher education from Universities UK, the organisation that represents vice-chancellors, began with the memorable line: “We note the Conservative’s (sic) proposals for higher education and will analyse these.” We know Tory MPs are thin on the ground in Westminster but to imply there is only one is just going too far.
