Pay framework under threat

The education Bill could spell the end of the national framework for teachers' pay and conditions, the ATL conference will be told.

Philip Shackleton of Greenhead high school in Bradford will say that measures to allow groups of schools to apply to opt out of national pay regulations could lead to teachers being forced to negotiate salary increases on a school-by-school basis.
