For the Hiroshima-Nagasaki schools’ anti-war writing competition, students aged 13-15 and 16-18 are asked to submit a story, poem or essay by May 29. Prizes include a busy day in London, Pounds 30 Waterstone’s book tokens for second prizewinners, and the best class, school or college entries will win computer hardware and software.

Extracts will be published in the New Statesman and displayed in a London art gallery.
